Why should you choose a Cummins Diesel Engine?

Better Where It Counts:

Cummins heavy-duty engines such as the ISX15 and ISX12 were one of the first commercial truck engines to meet the Environmental Protection Agency and United States Department of Transportation guidelines for fuel economy and greenhouse gas emissions all while improving fuel economy as well as overall reliability and durability.

Better Fuel Economy:

Already holding the industry-leading fuel economy, Cummins has gone further and improved it by up to 2% in 2013 by reducing parasitic losses, optimizing combustion, improving component efficiencies and needing fewer active after treatment regenerations. This is crucial for saving money at the gas pump.

Better Reliability And Durability:

Cummins designs, develops and supports every critical component from air handling to exhaust after treatment as a totally integrated system. The Cummins engine is the one you can count on for the long haul.

History:

A mechanic from Indiana named Clessie Cummins founded The Cummins Engine Company in 1919. The company concentrated on improving the diesel engine which was invented 20 years earlier by Rudolf Diesel. After many years of developmental trials, Cummins introduced the instantly-successful engine Model H, being marketed for small railroad switchers. Towards the later years of World War II with the United States booming road industry, Cummins became the leader in heavy-duty truck engines with their legendary N Series, controlling more than half of the market in the 1950s. Cummins is one of the technology leader’s in today’s diesel engine market, being the only company in the industry to meet the 2010 EPA standards NOx emissions. Norfolk Truck Center is proud to carry and support the Cummins diesel engine.
